-
In what kind of situation would I need X-rays?
X-rays, also known as radiographs, enable our dental team to identify issues that aren’t visible during a regular oral examination. They provide a view beneath the gum tissue and between teeth.
With X-rays, we can monitor the presence and position of teeth, including erupting, missing, impacted, or wisdom teeth, detect early cavities, and assess bone levels, which can change after tooth loss or with advanced gum disease.
Radiographs can also reveal abscesses, cysts, and calcified arteries, which may have implications for overall health.

Do you accept dental insurance? And how does it work?
Yes. If you have a dental insurance plan, we will take care of all the paperwork so you are reimbursed for all benefits for which you are entitled.
We can electronically submit paperwork to your insurance company on your behalf. We also send all treatment plans for pre-authorization to find out what your specific plan will cover.
-
How often should I get my teeth cleaned?
Depending on your at-home care, the condition of your mouth, risk of cavities (caries) and oral health habits, our recommendations for preventive treatment will vary.
We recommend clients with existing conditions (gum disease, untreated cavities, frequent new cavities, root exposure, etc.) come in more frequently than those with healthy mouths and few restorations.
To help minimize further damage, patients who are considered "at-risk" should see the dentist every three to four months.
For clients with healthy smiles, we recommend visiting the dentist every six months.
-
What if my insurance only covers cleaning every nine months?
Insurance coverage can vary depending on your plan. The 'nine-month rule' refers to the recommended interval for recall exams, polish, and fluoride treatments. However, it does not prevent you from having your teeth professionally cleaned.
Cleaning refers to 'scraping', or scaling/root planing to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from your teeth. This helps prevent gum irritation, inflammation, and bleeding.
Scheduling, Reminders & Cancellations
We value your time and do our best to keep appointments on schedule. Automated email reminders are sent one week before and again on the day of your visit.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us as much notice as possible so we can accommodate you and other patients.
Patient Education
Maintaining long-term oral health often depends on staying informed and educated about your teeth and gums.
That’s why one of our top priorities is patient education. We take the time to help you understand not only the details of the procedure, but also your overall oral health.
Emergencies
Please call us right away if you have a dental emergency or are experiencing pain. We will do our best to see you as soon as we can.
