Dental Veneers
At Heritage Dental Centre, our dental team can improve the appearance of your smile by placing thin shells of porcelain or composite resin, known as veneers, on the surface of your teeth.

Bring Back Your Bright Smile
Veneers are thin, tooth-coloured shells made of porcelain or composite resin that are permanently bonded to the front of your teeth.
Each veneer is custom-designed in shape and colour to complement both your smile and the natural structure of your face.
Durable and resistant to staining from food, drinks, and cigarettes, veneers can be an effective solution for chipped, discoloured, or slightly misaligned teeth.
They can also cover deep stains that teeth whitening treatments may not fully remove, giving your smile a brighter, natural-looking appearance.
Lumineers®
Lumineers are an ultra-thin type of porcelain veneer offered at our clinic for patients interested in enhancing their smiles.
Unlike traditional veneers, Lumineers often require little to no reduction of your natural tooth structure, making the process more comfortable and less invasive. Because they are thinner and easier to apply, Lumineers can typically be placed more quickly, offering a convenient cosmetic option for patients while still providing a natural-looking result.
Caring for Veneers
With proper care, dental veneers can last for many years while keeping your smile bright and natural-looking.
Caring for them is very similar to looking after your natural teeth. It’s important to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste, as well as flossing each day to keep your gums healthy.
While veneers are durable, they can still be damaged by excessive force, so avoid biting into hard foods like ice, nutshells, or hard candies.
Veneers themselves are resistant to staining, but the bonding material that holds them in place is not, so limiting coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco can help preserve their appearance.
If you grind or clench your teeth, your dentist may recommend a custom night guard to prevent damage. Regular dental check-ups and cleanings are also essential so your dentist can monitor the condition of your veneers and your overall oral health.
By following these steps, you can help your veneers stay strong and beautiful for years to come.
The Veneer Procedure
The process of applying dental veneers varies depending on which type of veneers the patient has chosen.
Porcelain Veneers Procedure
Getting porcelain veneers typically begins with your dentist taking a detailed impression or 3D scan of your teeth. This model allows for the design of veneers that are custom-shaped and coloured to match your smile.
Once the veneers are crafted, a thin layer of enamel may be gently removed from your teeth to ensure the veneers fit properly. The porcelain veneers are then carefully cemented to the front side of your teeth, instantly enhancing their appearance while maintaining a natural look.
Composite Resin Veneers Procedure
Composite resin veneers are usually completed in just one visit. Your dentist will begin by selecting a shade of resin that blends naturally with your smile. The tooth surface is then gently prepared to help the resin bond securely.
The composite resin is then carefully applied in layers, shaped to achieve the desired look, and then hardened with a special curing light. Once the final shape is perfected, the veneer is polished to give your tooth a smooth, natural finish.
