Dental Bridges & Crowns
Our team in Mission helps patients protect and repair their teeth using crowns and bridges, preventing further damage and maintaining oral health.

Restore Your Smile
Our dentists often recommend crowns and bridges as a non-surgical way to restore your smile. Crowns strengthen and protect damaged teeth, while bridges replace missing teeth, helping to maintain your bite, prevent further damage, and keep your smile looking complete and healthy.
In addition, these restorations can improve chewing function, support surrounding teeth, and enhance the overall appearance of your smile.
The Difference Between Crowns & Bridges
Crowns are hollow, artificial teeth that fit over a natural tooth or a dental implant to repair and protect damaged teeth. Bridges, on the other hand, are used to replace multiple missing teeth.
A bridge is anchored securely to the teeth on either side of the gap or to dental implants, making it a permanent restoration that cannot be removed.
If your teeth are cracked, damaged by decay, or if you’re missing one or more teeth, a dental crown or bridge may be an ideal solution to restore both the function and appearance of your smile.
The Dental Bridges Process
Over time, the gaps that are left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to shift, rotate, and drift into the spaces. This can cause bite problems, as well as an unpleasing appearance.
Enter bridges, a dental restoration designed to replace missing teeth and prevent the remaining teeth from moving.
Preparing for a dental bridge typically requires two appointments. During the first visit, the natural teeth or dental implants that will support the bridge are prepared, an impression is taken, and a temporary bridge is placed to protect the area.
Once the permanent bridge has been fabricated, your dentist will remove the temporary bridge, fit the final bridge over the supporting teeth or implants, check your bite, and securely cement it in place. Bridges provide a durable solution for replacing missing teeth while restoring both function and appearance.
The Dental Crowns Process
When a tooth has been damaged, broken or decayed to the point where there is not enough tooth structure left to place a filling, a crown will be recommended.
A crown, also referred to as a cap, is a fixed prosthetic that fits over a tooth (or dental implant).
At Heritage Dental Centre, we use CEREC® technology so that you can get your crown in just one appointment. If necessary, the existing tooth is shaped to make room for the crown on top of it, and any decay is removed.
A digital impression of the reshaped tooth is taken and from that, the CEREC machine makes your custom crown. Your dentist will then attach the crown, and make any necessary adjustments for fit and bite.
This will help reinforce the strength and durability of your tooth, protecting it from further damage or loss.
