Children's Dental Services
In Mission, kids need dental care just as much as adults to keep their smiles healthy. From your child’s very first tooth, we’re here to guide and support their oral health.

Foundations for Lifelong Oral Health
Between about 21 months and three years, your child’s 10 upper and 10 lower baby teeth have usually come in.
Even at this young age, it’s important for children to visit the dentist. Early visits help them get comfortable with regular dental care and give the dentist a chance to catch potential issues before they become problems.
Positive dental experiences early on help kids build trust and develop healthy habits for life. When children feel safe and at ease at the dentist, visits become a normal part of their routine.
During each visit, we will examine your child’s mouth, address any concerns, and create a plan to keep their smile healthy.
Since every child is different, some may need more frequent visits if their teeth or gums require extra care and monitoring.
Your Child's First Visit
We recommend that children see their dentist when their first teeth start to come in. After that, just like adults, they should have a professional dental exam and cleaning every six months.
Dental Services for Children
When children receive routinely scheduled professional cleanings and exams, it can help them get used to caring for their smiles as they grow up.
At Heritage Dental Centre, we provide preventive services that can be combined to form the foundations of your child's continuing dental health:
- Regular cleanings and examinations
- Advice for children's dental hygiene routines
- Protective sealants
- Fluoride treatments
Preventive Care for Kids
Tooth decay can begin as soon as your child’s teeth start coming in.
For our younger patients, we focus on preventing cavities before they start. Along with professional cleanings, we guide children and their parents on proper at-home oral hygiene to keep their smiles healthy.
Brushing & Flossing
Just like adult teeth, baby teeth should be brushed twice a day. Begin brushing your child’s teeth as soon as the first ones appear.
Once your child has two teeth that touch, it’s also important to start flossing daily to keep their smile healthy.
